| Lawn Bowls |
You don’t have to wear white and put on a straw hat to play lawn bowls. Look smart by all means but it’s very easy to play.
Our set contains two sets of four bowls and a jack. That’s the right number of bowls for two players.
As the name of the game suggests, it should be played on grass and officially the playing area should be at least 23 metres long. You will be given a full set of rules but in simple terms, one of you rolls the jack to a point at the end of the playing area and you then take turns to roll each of your bowls as close as you can to the jack.
The difficulty is the fact that the bowls are not completely round and have a slight bias to the left or to the right. The skill is understanding your bowl’s bias and therefore judging the line and length of your roll accordingly. |
